Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! April 26, 2009

Hello 4Ps mid-term study buddies:

First, study from the first 2 quizzes, some of the questions will be duplicated.

Don't forget that lack of preparation is what will usually embarrass a public speaker.
Be able to define a value proposition.
People become better in business because they stay informed via (old-school) newspapers, or magazines like Time or Newsweek, or by reading business news on-line.
Don't forget the part about "30."
Remember that churning isn't about butter.
Know some of the pros and cons of database marketing.
Ca$h is King!
Marketing professionals are excellent writers and solid public speakers......

The elevator speeches must be less than 60 seconds. Remember to be natural, so practice it in front of your mother, wife, boyfriend, dog.... anybody! And get some feedback. Or better yet, practice it while in line at Starbucks.

Tuesday you will have time allotted to work on your class project, so please be prepared to do so.

Have a great rest of the weekend. mdv

Okay, on week 5, we have our midterm exam, during which each of you will give your 60 second or less elevator speech. This Tuesday you all have a choice to give it live for my "free" scrutiny.

Lastly, don't forget this week's homework assignment: Each group will submit your project's Mission Statement.

See you all Tuesday!     mdv

Week #1 Powerpoint Slides for BLOG

Hello- I understand the textbooks are not yet available.... disappointing but don't worry. If the books get in Monday, try to read before Tuesday's class. I will likely push the lecture back and we'll improvise. Meanwhile, the posted slides are from class session #1. These are the nomenclature words, so reference the list while you're studying the Harvard Review and when you finally get the textbook. #5 on the preparation for next week is voluntary, in fact we may take some classtime to work on these drfts and have volunteers present. Take care, and have a great weekend.   Marc
